drushtikon Drushtikon: Photography ExhibitionSeeing the world through someone else’s eyes, is probably one of the most enticing visual experiences. And that is what Drushtikon 2010, the fourth annual photography exhibition by Photographers @ Pune is all about. Currently underway at the New Art Gallery, Ghole Road, Pune, Drushtikon 2010 showcases one hundred of the best photographs of the year from the group. As the name suggests, the whole point of the exhibition is to convey the unique perspectives or ‘Drushtikon’ of the photographers.

Photographers @ Pune, popularly known as P@P, is a group of almost 2000 passionate photographers with some connection to Pune. What’s even more interesting is that 99% of these photographers are only hobbyists, while most of the remaining 1% decided to go professional after their association with P@P.

The exhibition, currently in its 3rd and final day has received an extremely encouraging response and has witnessed close to 5000 visitors over its first two days. The photographs have received appreciation from one and all and so far 30% of the frames have been sold. Incidentally, 50% of the proceeds from the sale of frames at Drushtikon 2010 have been pledged to a charitable cause. The images on display range from landscapes to wildlife and portraits to abstract.

So what are you waiting for? The exhibition ends at 10 p.m tonight and there are no charges for entry.
